Singer and voice actress Nana Mizuki’s much-awaited new single, “Junketsu Paradox” (chastity paradox), will be released on Aug. 3, her record company, King Records Co., said.
The CD marks her 25th single and the song also serves as the ending theme for the “Blood-C” animated TV series, which is currently airing, the company said.
Priced at 1,200 yen ($15), including tax, the CD will come in a special case for its initial production run and include “7Colors” and “Stay Gold.”
A multi-talented songstress, Mizuki also works as a live performer and TV and radio personality. Her other songs released in April 2011, “Scarlet Knight” and “Pop Master,” claimed the second and third spots, respectively, on the daily Oricon chart. She became the first female solo artist in 11 years and eight months to capture two of the top three positions on the single chart.
Her newest single is certain to attract major attention.
Mizuki also shows off her voice acting skills in “Blood-C,” portraying the protagonist Saya Kisaragi.
The anime series is produced by leading anime studio Production I.G. It is linked to the studio’s earlier works, “Blood: The Last Vampire” and “Blood+.”
“Blood-C” has grabbed the attention with all-female manga artist group Clamp providing basic story ideas and character designs for the animated series.
