Rare concert of Hideki Sakamoto’s game music streamed online

A rare concert featuring the music of game music composer Hideki Sakamoto that took place in St. Petersburg will be streamed online May 15 on the video-streaming website Ustream.

The concert by St. Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sakamoto, took place March 30 at the Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace in the Russian city.

A representative producer in Japan’s game music industry, Sakamoto is best known for his scores for “No Heroes Allowed!” “Echochrome” and the “Yakuza” game series.

The performance will be streamed online for free and accessible worldwide. The program included excerpts from “No Heroes Allowed!” and “Echochrome” arranged for the orchestra.

This is a one-time event and will not be archived on Ustream. Streaming begins at around 8 p.m. on May 15.
