A social networking game based on the comically surreal full-CG anime series “Usavich” is now available for free download on the Mobage-town mobile game site.

“Usavich Kangoku Raifu: Datsugoku Hen” (Usavich, Prison life: Chapter, Prison break) is a virtual pet game in which the player must take care of two rabbits named Putin and Kirenenko.

The original animated series is an unusual slapstick comedy about Putin and Kirenenko, two inmates of a jail.

The show’s odd-but-somewhat-attractive characters and captivating storyline have gained it popularity among people, especially those in their 20s. More than 250,000 copies of the “Usavich” DVD have been sold.

The game was developed by mobile content developer Sonar.
The social gaming market is growing more competitive, and Sonar aims to differentiate its content by featuring these popular characters.

The game is free, but players can also choose to buy optional game items.
In addition to taking care of Putin and Kirenenko, the player can pick fights with other inmates.

The player can also choose to buy any of more than 300 items to customize their characters and decorate the jail.

The game also includes Mobage-town’s social networking access.

To add excitement, players can attempt a prison break when certain conditions are met. After escaping, the jailbreakers can join in a treasure hunt.

The “Usavich” anime series is the best known of titles from CG animation studio Kanaban Graphics Ltd. The series of short anime have been aired by MTV Networks Japan K.K. and other broadcasters, and DVDs were released by Pony Canyon Inc.
