If cosplay and films are not enough to make the avid Evangelion fan feel that they are part of the adventure anime, a line of energy drinks featuring the widely popular four-part “Evangelion” film reboot series will be released Dec. 14.
“Evangelion Katsudo Zenkai Drink” (Evangelion activity full-throttle drink) will come with 12 character labels and 12 cap designs to offer a possible 144 combinations.
The energy drinks will be priced at 210 yen ($2.70), including tax, Bandai Co. said.
Evangelion Katsudo Zenkai, which will be sold at drugstores, supermarkets, mass retailers and convenience stores nationwide, contains nutrients such as coenzyme Q10, B vitamins and amino acids, according to Bandai.
Bandai officials said they hope to attract Japanese businessmen in their 20s and 30s by helping them “overcome difficulties and identify with the anime characters who are committed to fierce battles while going through both emotional and physical stress.”
The energy drink labels feature two versions of each of six main characters from the film series, including Shinji Ikari, Rei Ayanami, Asuka Shikinami Langley, Mari Makinami Illustrious, Kaworu Nagisa, and Misato Katsuragi, along with their memorable lines.
