The live concerts featuring Hatsune Miku and other virtual idols will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on Nov. 16, the official website announced on Aug. 17.
Titled “Hatsune Miku Live Party 2011,” or “Mikupa” for short, the discs will contain footage from the “39’s Live in Tokyo” concert held on March 9 at Zepp Tokyo concert hall and the “39’s Live in Sapporo” that took place at Sapporo Education and Culture Hall on Aug. 16-17.
Hatsune Miku, the computer-generated singing character for a voice synthesizing application, has won worldwide fame after she was featured in a live concert in Los Angeles in July.
For the Japan concerts, the software for the Blu-ray and DVD releases will include extra footage omitted from the online streaming.
The limited editions will also cover off-stage shots from the venues, offering a more vivid atmosphere and feel of the concerts.
Thanks to the subtitle feature, viewers can also follow the lyrics of the songs on screen.
The discs will come in four versions.
A three-disc limited Blu-ray edition, priced at 7,770 yen ($100), will include a Hatsune Miku figurine, while the three-disc limited DVD edition, 6,825 yen, will come with a cellphone strap.
The two-disc regular Blu-ray and DVD editions are priced at 5,985 yen and 4,830 yen, respectively.
The Tokyo and Sapporo concerts will also be available on four-disc audio CD set, which will come out in both special and regular editions.
