The Digital Content Expo 2011, a large event to introduce the latest technology in digital content and computer technology, will be held Oct. 20-22, organizers said.
The event will take place at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation and the Tokyo International Exchange Center in Tokyo’s Odaiba waterfront district.
Organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Digital Content Association of Japan, the DC Expo brings together technologies, creative talents and businesses crucial for the nation’s digital content industry for the next generation.
The DC Expo also serves as one of the official events held concurrently with the Japan International Contents Festival (CoFesta). The event has attracted attention as it highlights the technical aspects of digital content.
The DC Expo comprises three main programs: the Content Technology Exhibits (ConTEX), Asiagraph and the International 3-D Fair 2011 in Tokyo.
Based on a strategic road map compiled by the Industry Ministry, ConTEX will focus on elements considered necessary for content development technology.
Asiagraph will feature artistic works from all over Asia and the latest technology related to computer graphics.
The theme of the International 3-D Fair is content development technology for 3-D imagery, which has come under the spotlight across the globe in recent years.
The DC Expo also intends to beef up its efforts for programs involving general visitors introduced since last year to further vitalize the event.
The DC Expo attracted about 26,000 visitors last year, with DCEXPO TV, an official stream on Ustream live video streaming website, attracting about 29,000 visitors online.
